ABOUT INTERCIVIS
Who Are We
InterCivis is a Vienna based non-for-profit Association dedicated to fostering meaningful connections across cultures, regions, and communities. Guided by our motto “People, Perspectives, and Civilizations in Dialogue,” we create platforms that bring diverse voices together through dialogue-based activities and capacity-building initiatives. Our work centers on strengthening Europe–Asia relations and promoting dynamic engagement with the Global South. By supporting inclusive conversations and empowering local actors, InterCivis contributes to more connected, resilient, and cooperative global societies.
THE FOUNDER
Matic Gajšek
Matic Gajšek is the founder of InterCivis, bringing a strong background in cultural diplomacy, innovation, and strategic development. With experience spanning Europe, Asia, the Middle East, and North America, he has led international initiatives at the intersection of culture, technology, and global dialogue.
Previously, Matic served as Director for Europe at the Europe-Asia Center and co-founded OnstageAI, a startup developing AI-powered tools for the performing arts. He has also worked as a cultural strategist, advisor, and lecturer, collaborating with institutions across sectors—from governments to civil society. Currently, he is pursuing a Ph.D. at Tilburg University, focusing on social and behavioral sciences.

H.E. Dr. Violeta Bulc
H.E. Violeta Bulc features her life and work with science, technology, innovation, economic participation and political empowerment. Her journey through life covers roles as a business woman, member of her national basketball team, IT engineer in Silicon Valley, business leader in the telecommunications sector, Deputy Prime Minister of Slovenia and then EU Commissioner for Transport and Mobility (Juncker's Commission).
With her commitment to inter-civilisational dialogue, she has as a curator initiated a global movement Ecocivilisation.
